Great love stories throughout history have always fascinated me, as well as human’s relationship with nature. Great passion is always accompanied by great pain. In my work, I like to show that these can exist in the same place harmoniously. I am inspired by words left to the living. I use paper materials from all corners of my life including books, cards, flip calendars, old sketchbooks, and wrapping paper scraps. I like to think that they found me, like the people that have found themselves on journeys that parallel mine. I was taught from a young age to pour feelings of passion and pain into my artwork. It is my hope that the audience can connect with the calm arrangement or disturbing chaos in my mixed media madness of acrylic paint, posca paint pens, paper, fabric, spray paint and other materials.
